Acton Main Line is a National Rail station on the Great Western Main Line in Acton, west London. It is 4 miles 21 chains (6.9 km) down the line from London Paddington.
Crossrail is a 73-mile new railway line under development in the United Kingdom. Crossing London from west to east, at each end of its central core the line will divide into two branches: in the west to Reading and to stations at Heathrow Airport; in the east to Abbey Wood and to Shenfield.
This detailed, geo specific and accurate, 3D terrain model, covers an area of in length of 3 kilometres including Acton Main Line station and contains all necessary detailed signage, selectable signalling and points.
This Real-time scenario was modelled for use in rail driver training videos. Its primary purpose was for drivers to view and understand newly changed rail lines and areas not yet built, helping them to fully learn the new routes, prior to driving them for real.
The project was done in conjunction with Track Access Services Ltd.
